January meeting of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) LaCrosse/Winona Chapter

PlastiCert was host to the January meeting of Section 1216 of the American Society for Quality (ASQ) LaCrosse/Winona Chapter. The meeting brought 28 members from all walks of manufacturing and quality in SE Minnesota and Western Wisconsin to learn about PlastiCert’s history, Mission, business goals and objectives. The attendees were provided an introduction to the history of PlastiCert and an orientation to injection molding and the business model, by President and Owner, Craig Porter.

Following a brief question and answer period, Ben Ninas, Director of Qualiy and Business Development led the attendees on a tour and discussion of the facility and PlastiCert’s operational processes highlighting PlastiCert’s ability to partner with the customers and service their various needs and objectives.

“It was a great opportunity for exchange”, remarked Porter. “Many of them had some injection molding experience but a number were new to the process so we were pretty soup to nuts in how our business functions”. Afterward Ninas mentioned, “The tour was very interactive. They were quite interested in our ability to react to our customers’ quick turn needs on both the mold design and production side.”

“We think they derived some benefit from the tour”, commented Porter. “I know we certainly did. It helps to periodically have some outside professional eyes come in and look around, ask about what we do and how or why we do it. It gives you an important perspective and input toward continuous improvement”.
