Lewiston, MN / July 23, 2012 –PlastiCert, a 31 year provider of innovative and service oriented plastic injection mold design and injection molding services was a major force behind the Winona Swim Club’s successful management of the 2012 River City Splash AB Long Course Finals.
The Winona Water Wizards Swim Club, a member of MN Swimming and USA Swimming, hosted the 21st Annual River City Splash, AB Long Course Championships. Held at Winona’s Bob Welch Aquatic Center, the outdoor 50 meter long course competition pool saw nearly 600 swimmers compete in 2,500 races spread out over 650 heats of competition from Friday to Sunday. Swimmers from Southern Minnesota, Western Wisconsin and the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul qualified to swim in the meet. Qualification entailed achieving an A or B standard time as established by Minnesota Swimming, over the course of the summer swimming session at meets throughout the Midwest.
PlastiCert, a 10 year supporter of Winona swimming, provided manpower, logistical and monetary support to help make the meet as successful as the years prior. “Competitive swimming is one of the stellar examples of sportsmanship in today’s world of athletics and we feel the need to encourage that,” remarked Craig Porter, President and Owner of PlastiCert. “Parents are learning of this positive environment and as a result, swimming membership is sky rocketing. Competitor and family attendance at this meet keeps going up and up. The need to help pull it off was there and we were happy to respond. With great things anticipated from this year’s Olympic Swimmers, we expect an even bigger increase in participation next year and we’ll be there to help out in 2013 as well.”
