PlastiCert pronounced a TOP SHOP, AGAIN

Lewiston, MN October 12, 2020 – PlastiCert, a veteran of innovative and quality plastic injection molding design and manufacturing services for nearly 40 years, has again been pronounced one of a handful of Top Shops in the United States by Plastics Technology Magazine.

Plastics Technology Magazine recently published the results of their 2020 Top Shops Benchmarking Report for US injection molders.  Plastics Technology sent notice to its subscribers about the opportunity to take their exclusive benchmarking survey. Of the companies around the nation that responded to this survey, Plastics Technology designated 23 injection molders as Top Shops. This benchmarking survey asked participants to share demographic data, performance indicators and business and process strategies from their prior year. In addition to demographic data, the survey asked for information on some key metrics, including areas like sales growth, sales per machine and employee, scrap rate, and setup time, among others. Scoring on 10 of these metrics was used to separate 2020’s Top Shops from the rest of the respondents.

“PlastiCert is honored to be among this elite group,” remarked Craig Porter, PlastiCert’s President and Owner. “We have worked hard utilizing tracked metrics that assess our progress and provide direction. Improvement is a trip and not a destination. We pride ourselves on working closely with our customers. We work to understanding their needs. We then incorporate that into our business plans. Lastly, we communicate where we are going to our people. The key take-away from this year’s results, is that those areas where we were marked a little lower, are part of our strengths. I will go more into that in some following blog posts.”

While there were striking similarities between Top Shops and others when it came to technologies and equipment, the differentiation started to pronounce itself when questions delved into the offerings to customers in the value add area. All showing stark contrast were Top Shops making investments in people and equipment, running assessments and business reviews of their plans and operations, business strategy, and most importantly, communicating that information to their people.
