Being festive!

Summer is in full swing and that means summer celebrations and festivals! Here in Lewiston this weekend we celebrate Heartland Days (as Lewiston is right in the center or heart of the county). We encourage all of our co-workers to participate if not outright volunteer to help make the event fun and memorable for everyone. You see PlastiCert people helping at the Kiddie Parade, Youth baseball tourney, the Tractor Pull, the main parade and many others. PlastiCert itself is sponsoring an area barbershop choir’s appearance in the parade. We are also collaborating with two other businesses to bring a Shrine Motorcycle Patrol to come entertain everyone in the parade as well.

In addition, the 11th Season of The Great River Shakespeare Festival opens this weekend in Winona and runs through August 3. The Great River Shakespeare Festival (GRSF) is a nonprofit, professional theatre company dedicated to dynamic productions of Shakespeare’s plays, education and community outreach programs, and theatre training, GRSF has become an integral part of the Winona community. This year’s productions are; The Merry Wives of Windsor, a bawdy, hysterical take on fidelity, centering around one of the great comic characters of all time. Hamlet, which is quite arguably the greatest play ever written. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, a Shakespeare inspired story that asks, “what if?” Lastly, you can watch the Apprentice/Intern Project: Troilus and Cressida. Apprentices and Interns come from elite theater training programs across the country to build the sets, understudy the productions, sew the costumes, hang the lights, and do everything else that keeps GRSF running. You can watch the young artists in their own production as they begin their professional careers. For more information on all the productions, the Concerts on the Green (before productions), the talks with directors and artists, you can go to http://grsf.org/

As always, enjoy your time away from the office and plant, we know we will!
