Manufacturing Month Across the Country

It’s MFG (manufacturing) Day (and month) from coast to coast. MFG Day is launched annually on the first Friday in October. Events continue throughout the month. MFG Day helps show the reality of modern manufacturing careers by encouraging thousands of companies and educational institutions around the nation to open their doors to students, parents, teachers, and community leaders.

PlastiCert opened our doors to the community this past summer celebrating our new building addition and new injection press additions. We are quite busy right now filling orders that are way above what I had forecast, (thank goodness for the new addition and new equipment!!!). So, we chose not to open them again for MFG Day.

Besides, every day is MFG Day here at PlastiCert. We open our doors and welcome visitors whenever we can. Now that the pandemic is winding down, we are reestablishing our contacts and program of having the local HS Exploring Careers Class, come over for a visit. Pre-pandemic we had multiple classes over the school year come and tour, and then sit for 20 minutes talking about career exploration, CALLING ATTENTION TO, careers in manufacturing. One of the big talking points we stress is that manufacturing is not all technical and floor work. There are more jobs in manufacturing that support those efforts like HR, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Production Planning, and Purchasing.

So happy MFG Day & Month! We have been celebrating it our whole lives and are working hard to make sure we are still around to celebrate it when our kids join us at PlastiCert!
