PlastiCert is re-certified to ISO 9001:2008.
Lewiston, MN November 25, 2015 – PlastiCert, a 34 year veteran of innovative and quality plastic injection molding design and manufacturing services, was recently audited and received its Certification of Registration to ISO 9001:2008 marking over 10 years of superior quality and operational systems.
Having been audited by its 3rd party registrar, PlastiCert has been re-certified to ISO 9001:2008 good for another 3 years. “This process was started back in 2004 when PlastiCert first registered for and received it initial certification”, remarked Craig Porter, President and Owner of PlastiCert. “Ben Ninas our Director of Operations, spearheaded the effort corporate wide back when he was our Quality Manager. He is a natural for understanding the requirements and implementing a system that has worked well. He even went out and helped refine our former Pennsylvania facility. His work in PA made compliance and auditing a much more robust and less costly process there as well.”
ISO 9000 is a worldwide quality management standard that presents guidelines intended to increase business efficiency and customer satisfaction. The goal of ISO 9000 is to embed a quality management system within an organization, increasing productivity, reducing unnecessary costs, and ensuring quality of processes and products. One important aspect of ISO 9000 is its process-oriented approach. Instead of looking at a company’s departments and individual processes, ISO 9000 requires that a company look at “the big picture.” PlastiCert is certified to the 9001 standard which includes the design engineering function in its systems and auditing requirements.
Once implemented within an organization, many companies choose to become certified with ISO 9000 through a 3rd party audit. In this case, an independent certification body comes into an organization and evaluates it in terms of the ISO 9000 guidelines. If an organization meets the requirements of the standard, it becomes certified in ISO 9000 and carries a seal of quality recognized throughout the world.
“Having credentials like being ISO certified over 10 years, our Enterprise Resource Planning Software or even our UL Registration that help set us apart from our competition” added Porter.
