PlastiCert participates in the 12th Annual WSU-Miller Brothers School of Engineering Scholarship Golf Benefit.
Lewiston, MN September 12, 2014 – PlastiCert, a 33 year veteran of innovative and quality plastic injection molding design and manufacturing services, recently helped raise scholarship funds and enjoy the company of other industry professionals at the WSU-Miller Brothers School of Engineering Scholarship Golf Benefit.
On Thursday afternoon September 11, PlastiCert took part in the 12th Annual WSU-Miller Brothers School of Engineering Scholarship Golf Outing. Sponsored by The Winona Area Composites Consortium and The Winona State University Alumni Office, activities were held at the beautiful Cedar Valley Golf Course in Winona, Minnesota.
PlastiCert President and Owner Craig Porter was, once again, on the golf fundraiser planning committee, and put together PlastiCert’s team for this year’s competition. “We had a lot of fun organizing the event, and then my gang and I had a good deal of fun playing in it,” remarked Porter. “We finished in 5th place overall out of the twenty foursomes participating. We had some great shots coupled with giving a few strokes back. We won two of the six holes that resulted from the Skins Game, one of them an awesome eagle on the par 5 12th Hole! The big winners though, were the Composites Engineering students at Winona State. Aside from all the entry fees, sponsorships and donated door prizes, we even gave back our winnings from the Skins Game as well!”
With the proceeds of this year’s tournament, the Industry for the Advancement of Composites Engineering Scholarship Fund has nearly $70,000 in it and has now achieved the level of permanently endowing two annual scholarships.
