Lewiston, MN May 2, 2017 – PlastiCert, a 36 year veteran of innovative and quality plastic injection molding design and manufacturing services, recently saw it’s President/Owner participate in an industry event expert panel.

Enterprise Minnesota, an ISO 9001:2008 certified consulting organization that helps manufacturing companies become operationally efficient and well positioned to grow profitably, rolled out their ninth State of Minnesota Survey results. First introduced in 2009, The State of Manufacturing® is a statistically meaningful survey of manufacturing executives that provides the industry, and stakeholders of manufacturing, a comprehensive view of their perceptions and opinions about the issues, challenges, and opportunities that manufacturers face in doing business in Minnesota. Following a kick-off in Minneapolis, a traveling tour of presentations around the state was set up. The first stop was in Owatonna.

Sponsored by the Southern Minnesota Initiative Foundation (SMIF) the event was open to manufacturers and everyone connected to the manufacturing industry including educators, elected officials, economic development professionals, granting agencies, and members of the media. The event featured a briefing of the 2017 results, followed by a manufacturing panel discussion moderated by Tim Penny, president, SMIF and Bob Kill, president and CEO, Enterprise Minnesota. PlastiCert President/Owner Craig Porter was asked to participate as one of the manufacturing executives on the panel. “I was quite honored to be asked and more than happy to participate,” commented Porter. “I attended one of the regional meetings used as input for the survey. The survey is a great asset Enterprise Minnesota provides to business people like me. We are all looking to navigate business issues. I have absorbed scores of information from past surveys and was more than happy to pay them back for providing this survey each year.”
