Lewiston, MN February 28, 2013 – PlastiCert, a 31 year veteran of innovative and quality plastic injection molding design and manufacturing services, recently implemented an upgrade to its ERP software, used for managing all aspects of its functions.
During the month of January, PlastiCert worked with its Enterprise Resource Planning software supplier, Aptean. Their software applications and services enable more than 9,000 customers, in more than 100 countries, to satisfy their customers, operate most efficiently, and stay at the forefront of their industry.
“We have been using this package for around 16 years“, remarked Craig Porter, President and Owner of PlastiCert. “For a company our size, it is a rarity and we feel a strategic advantage for us. Intuitive ERP is geared for manufacturers building products for regulated industries, such as electronics, medical devices, and aviation. For a total service provider like PlastiCert who needs to partner with customers in a wide variety of industries and markets, it is a great tool!” Intuitive ERP provides core functionality with extensive feature depth for maintaining the integrity of regulated products, features including: Serial Number/Lot Number Traceability, Quality Management, Customer RMA, Demand Forecasting, Capable to Promise (What if type scenarios), Procurement, Production Planning, Production Scheduling, Production Analysis, Reporting and Analysis. All this manufacturing and planning activity ties out into the financial function for invoicing, inventory and money management, all analysis stems from the same database.
“It allows us to do way more with less”, said Porter. “Managing things like JIT, short run, optimizing and planning the floor, all things become possible when you have the information available. Knowledge is power as they say.”
PlastiCert was founded in 1981 and is a privately held corporation with headquarters and manufacturing in Lewiston Minnesota. Initially a custom molder targeted at the electronics industry, today PlastiCert is a one-stop shop for OEMs in telecom, industrial, computer, avionics and medical markets.
