Break Up Songs, We Have Heard Many
There are many business articles out there talking about the Customer/Supplier relationship. The phases follow the same path as individual relationships; Introduction/attraction, courting, commitment, growth, and conflict. As with individuals, sometimes a breakup occurs and the affected parties move on. The same happens in the Customer/Supplier relationship.
PlastiCert has a number of customers that we added as the result of prior “breakups”. Almost always for “performance” reasons. Not “that” kind of performance, but typically we see quality, delivery or capability issues.*
As with many relationship issues, PlastiCert doesn’t get the full story, just that the prior arrangement was not working.
PlastiCert is an expert at getting to the source of the issue. Nine out of ten times it is a mold issue. Also, a culprit could be resin selection for the part design coupled with the mold design.
In EVERY case, we have discerned what the “cause” of the breakup was and progressed the mold/part(s) in question, back onto a routine schedule delivering quality parts.
PlastiCert engineers are resin/materials experts. With degrees from the ONLY Composite Material Science undergrad program in the nation!
PlastiCert has an internal mold design, build and maintenance shop that is fully versed in working with complex designs and engineered resins like UltemTM and others with adders for enhanced performance.
So, whatever your problem with your current supplier, if it has been dragging out, with commitment and promises not realized, deadlines missed, it may be time for a breakup. The worst thing you can do is drag out the situation, preventing you from focusing on moving your company forward.
PlastiCert can be your answer to getting your business life back on track and addressing matters that will move your company forward, rather than spinning your wheels. PlastiCert’s job is to make you look good in your job!
Go ahead, give PlastiCert a call or send us an inquiry. You can tell us your story, or just say you are ready for a change. We’ll help you get back on track and focus forward rather than stuck in neutral!
*For the record, PlastiCert has had breakups of its own. In the last 20 years, three customers left PlastiCert, all for pricing issues. Two of those three customers eventually returned, learning pricing promises are the easiest promises to break. The third also experienced that same situation but couldn’t stomach the idea of repeating the work in reversing the decision.
