While we always celebrate what we do, October is the month U.S. manufacturing does it together. PlastiCert historically opens its doors to business people, residents, and students to better acquaint them with who we are, what we do and the reach we have through the country and even the world.

Some of the facts that we would like to share with our visitors include:

* The Manufacturing firms are 5% of all firms in SE MN.

That said, Manufacturing in SE MN represents 14.5% of all jobs. (nationwide Manufacturing represents around 7-8% of jobs across all industries)

14.5% of the total jobs takes home17% of the wages paid in SE MN ( Meaning Manufacturing pays more than most careers)

That also translates into an average annual wage of $77,480. Which is that same 17% higher than the wages of all others.

While there has been a slight 3% reduction in Manufacturing jobs over the last 10 years, our sector, Plastics & Rubber Products Manufacturing has seen 22% growth in jobs.

With 654 production job vacancies in 2024 (down slightly from 690 in 2023), Southeast Minnesota manufacturers continue seeking workers across skill levels, with median wage offers of $21.65 per hour. The range of job vacancies shows how manufacturing has evolved beyond traditional assembly line work into specialized roles requiring different training paths.
