Are you paying too much and losing your freedom?

Depending on who you have chosen for your injection molding supplier, you inherit a whole host of consequences with that selection. Not just in piece part price but in mold cost as well.

Odds are, you have chosen a large molder that emphasizes high volume runs. That represents the majority of molders out there. Depending on your annual quantities, they may even require you to run your annual demand all at once and take monthly releases. Both to approach the price target YOU have and sync with THEIR higher production order methodology.

That scenario alone comes with some negatives like being able to react to market fluctuations and possible part/design changes.

It also means that their guidance on part design for molding AND their mold design might be more about THEIR high volume production methods than YOUR needs as a customer. A mold designed for high volume running can have many more bells and whistles (reads as added cost) than a mold intended to be used for occasional small and medium volume use and have interaction with the operator.

You do not have to compromise flexibility and freedom to get the injection molded components and assemblies you require to be successful.

A plan for the mold design and the part production SHOULD be based upon what YOUR needs as a customer are. If you require smaller lot sizes to be able to react to market reaction and feedback, if you need flexibility in part design to make alterations based on that feedback, if you need freedom, you need to partner with a molder that offers that freedom.

A small and medium volume molder like PlastiCert will work with you to design a mold that meets YOUR needs for flexibility AND cost. PlastiCert will also provide you part design input that lends itself to a small and medium volume plan and mold combination.

Give PlastiCert a call or if you are to that stage, request a quote where we can communicate with you and what you are thinking and how best to get YOUR solution. Regardless of what thermoplastic resin you would like to use, or part geometries you are trying to achieve, you do not have to partner with a large volume molder to feel assured of supply continuity. PlastiCert was declared a World Class Molder AND won a world wide TOP SHOP designation four times by Plastics Technology magazine. We know what we are doing and can help YOU achieve your goals with a manufacturing scenario that fits YOUR plan.
