Change Is Good
Change is Good has been one of my favorite mantras since I was a teen. As a past Quality Engineer, I was sneered at when I used that phrase. Come to think of it, I was almost always sneered at when I used that phrase.
Volumes have been written about the natural inclination to avoid change. Adversity to change is said to be rooted in comfort. The thought that doing things the same way, with the same tools, correlates with knowing what one is doing is the right (and maybe best) way.
At odds with that sentiment is the knowledge that all things change. We are constantly getting older, even each second of the day is gone after it occurs. The one thing that is acknowledged as inevitable, CHANGE, is the one thing that makes most people uncomfortable.
As a business owner, my penchant for change has been to my advantage. Historically, that acceptance of change has led to the resolve to change employers through my career, accept new challenges as part of my career, and accept new methods and equipment as pathways to better performance.
Not just acceptance but inviting change has been an emphasis on leading and training PlastiCert staff to prepare for the future.
At PlastiCert, we constantly look for better ways of using what we have, and acquiring what we need, to change how we can be of better service to our customers. Which are also constantly changing, which is also exciting in itself.
