PlastiCert LogoLewiston, MN May 19, 2015 – PlastiCert, a 34 year veteran of innovative and quality plastic injection molding design and manufacturing services, acquired a 25 ton press to better service customers.

PlastiCert recently acquired a Boy 25D Injection molding press and is in the process of qualifying it for use in production. Acquired during an on-line auction, it is a low hour unit that met PlastiCert requirements for reliability and serviceability. The need for the press was threefold. It augmented capacity in that part/mold size category. It also addresses a risk management need for back-up capability to a similar size press. Most importantly, its barrel and screw size will allow PlastiCert to do near micro-molding size projects, one of which, a metal-to-plastic conversion, is coming to fruition with an existing customer.

“We have wanted to address the risk management aspect, but recent customer product development work brought the need front and center”, remarked President and Owner Craig Porter. “This press will allow us to reliability make small shot size parts, but also serve those secondary back-up benefits. This acquisition will open some additional doors for micro molding projects.”

PlastiCert was founded in 1981 and is a privately held corporation with headquarters and manufacturing in Lewiston Minnesota.
