PlastiCert announces recognition award for its President and Owner

Lewiston, MN September 21, 2017 – PlastiCert, a 36 year veteran of innovative and quality plastic injection molding design and manufacturing services reports it’s President & Owner is receiving an Alumni Achievement Award.
Earlier in the summer, PlastiCert President & Owner Craig Porter was notified that his alma mater would be honoring him with one of its five individual Alumni Association awards. The ceremony will take place at a Sept. 29 noon luncheon in the Conference Center Ballroom on the campus of Southwest Minnesota State University.
The event is part of the University’s 50th anniversary Homecoming activities, with a theme of “Forever Brown & Gold.”

“When Michael VanDrehle, Director of Alumni Relations came to visit me, he arrived under the guise of planning 50th Anniversary Homecoming events. I was quite surprised and humbled when he revealed the real reason for his visit,” commented Porter. “One of the great takeaways of my time at Southwest was service to others along with awareness of community and it being greater than just your needs.”
Aside from taking ownership of his company in 2011, Porter has long been active in his city and business communities. He volunteers and serves on numerous chambers, commissions, committees, associations, and task forces both short and long terms. He participates on technical advisory boards for both Winona State University and Minnesota State College Southeast. He also is an official for swimming and diving for youth, professional, high schools and colleges rising to Deck Referee for the State HS Championships and participating in College Championships.
