PlastiCert President/Owner speaks at Fall Meeting of the Plastics Pioneers Association
Lewiston, MN October 1, 2019, 2019 – PlastiCert, a veteran of innovative and quality composite injection molding design and manufacturing services for nearly 40 years, reports it’s President & Owner recently spoke to a gathering of distinguished and accomplished plastics professionals.
On Saturday September 28, PlastiCert President and Owner Craig Porter, was invited to deliver an address to the Fall Meeting of the Plastics Pioneers Association. Entitled, “Where will New Workers Come From”. Porter presented to the assembled membership after their Saturday General Membership meeting, held at the Embassy Suites Downtown Minneapolis. “I was glad I was speaking to this crowd regarding Workforce,” commented Porter. “I wouldn’t have wanted to try to talk plastics. These are some of the smartest minds in the industry. I would have been in over my head speaking plastics against their accumulative plastics knowledge base”. The audience included two current members of the Plastics Hall of Fame.
Saturday was the last of three days of the PPA’s Semi-Annual Meeting. Attending members had traveled from 19 different states. By Saturday morning they had already had their committee meetings, Board of Governor’s Meeting and held a historical plastics and antique roadshow put on by their Plastics History and Artifacts Collection Committee. Over the three days the attendees were also treated to tours of St. Paul and Minneapolis, a tour of Steinwall Inc in Coon Rapids with a reception at the home of Steinwall’s owner. Golf events at Edinburgh USA and the TPC Twin Cities Golf Courses, a lunch cruise on Lake Minnetonka, and a visit to the Brave New Workshop comedy club. Events and festivities concluded on Saturday evening with a banquet where three new members were indoctrinated into the Plastics Pioneers Association, (membership is by invitation only).
Porter’s talk on workforce was well received and he was invited to join the members on their cruise on Lake Minnetonka, tour of Minneapolis, and the evening’s banquet.
