Lewiston, MN February 14, 2014 – PlastiCert, a 33 year veteran of innovative and quality plastic injection molding design and manufacturing services, was requested by the Minnesota Department of Education to attend a recognition ceremony on March 3rd.

The Minnesota Department of Education congratulated PlastiCert on their selection by ACT as a Minnesota Workplace Success Award nominee. The award stems from the ACT College & Career Readiness Campaign recognizing companies under the following factors:

  • Strength of Relationships with local colleges and high schools
  • Use of Career Readiness assessments for recruitment and career advancement within the company
  • Dedication to providing employees with opportunities for new knowledge ad skills attainment
  • Demonstrated effort to create and maintain diversity in the workplace, and
  • Demonstrated efforts of employer and employees to give back to the local community

“Part of PlastiCert’s mission statement includes recognizing our commitment to the community around us” commented Craig Porter, President & Owner of PlastiCert. “PlastiCert is involved with both college and high schools in the area, lending our insight wherever it is asked for. “ Porter sits on the advisory board of the Winona State University Composites Engineering program and the advisory board for the Project Lead The Way program at Lewiston-Altura Area High School. He is active on the business and education committee at the Winona Area Chamber of Commerce, working with area high schools and chairing a task force on holding a career fair, as well as a presenter in their “CEO in the Classroom – Learn to Earn” program presenting to area 8th graders. PlastiCert’s Porter was named to the Winona Workforce Investment Board, a statewide program out of the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development initiated by the Governor and coordinated regionally out of the SE Minnesota Workforce Center. He also sits on the Emerging Technologies Advisory Committee for Minnesota State College – SE Technical. Numerous PlastiCert co-workers volunteer at area schools on youth programs and sports groups.
