Put Out the Welcome Mat

As blogged previously, it is Manufacturing Month in October and we do a myriad of things to celebrate that.

This week we opened our doors to Chamber of Commerce members from the Winona business area.

Most were unfamiliar with composite injection molding, mold making, the resin involved and how prevalent plastic and composite parts are in their daily lives.

Most significant, ALL were impressed with the clean, orderly, and organized appearance of the molding floor and machine shop, as well as our well lit and open break room area.

Manufacturing has had a bad reputation going back many years. Those types of work environments have been eliminated or minimized a long time now.

Step one is to open the doors and let people in to see for themselves. Step two is to go out into the community to educate the youth AND parents about the modern manufacturing scenario. Then promote becoming part of our part of the economy that pays better, has better job satisfaction, better training, and better transferability.

That same invitation goes out to you., If you have not been to see us or it has been a while, come pay PlastiCert a visit.
