Working remotely – as a company

Working remotely, many people are still doing it. The common question, when will you go back to the office? People have done it here at PlastiCert, (even pre-COVID) but none currently. Management newsletters and blogs are awash with how you manage this situation, now and going forward.

Yet, it occurs to me, PlastiCert, as a company, has been a “remote” worker for its entire existence. Our customers span the country, and occasionally the world. Still, we collaborate with them through a myriad of communication means but the rarest of them is face-to-face.

While we LOVE having visitors, we can count using one hand how few customers have been within our four walls in the last 10 years. Despite not having bodies pass through our front door, we routinely collaborate on new part designs, new mold designs, insert molding, overmolding, make resin and material suggestions, talk about in-mold decorating and secondary operations, and then bring their new and revised components, to market.

All done through electronic means. Whether that be our VOIP system, ZOOM, electronic file transfer or others, we routinely work along side our customers (electronically) helping them look good in their positions.

As for ongoing production, we have not had a quality or delivery triggered visit in, well, we cannot remember one. Quite the opposite, we have had numerous successful collaborations on the transferring of molds and running production when prior suppliers could not get parts made yet we could. We have even had similar collaborations when molds are returning, having left for supposedly better pricing that never materialized.

So, if you are looking for a supplier that routinely excels at making you look good without having to be onsite, check us out. We can do for you, what we do for forty plus other OEMs around the US, make you look good without ever having to leave your desk.
