Is your injection molding sourced in the US? Think you are safe?

As the Duke (John Wayne) always said, “Not hardly”.

So, you already have your injection molding sourced here in the U.S. Do you think all the fuss about reshoring does not pertain to you?

You might have a day of reckoning approaching.

Right now, thousands of midsize and large OEMs are reevaluating their offshore sourcing position and looking for a domestic injection molding option. If they have $3MM, $5MM, of higher volume programs, they are going to be quite tempting to a larger injection molder.

Standard operating procedure is to run at high capacity to meet their margins. That larger molder may have tolerated your smaller runs to keep their presses active. You may have excused the lack of attention or responsiveness in exchange for working with that larger molder.

BUT

When a larger dollar, high volume OEM comes calling, do you think your molder will tell them no due to lack of capacity?

Most likely, they will look at where they can free up capacity, and look first at their smaller, lower volume or batch order customers, and say thanks, but we can no longer accommodate you, we are shipping your mold(s) back to you.

Then YOU will be the one scrambling.

Do not wait for the inevitable. You do not have to put up with a lack of attention, take it or leave it high pricing, AND no schedule flexibility.

Right size your injection molding with an award winning, highly technical, AND low and medium volume shop. One like PlastiCert.  Have insert molding needs? Over molding needs? Tight tolerances or demanding resins?

PlastiCert was recognized by Plastics Technology Magazine as a World Class Molder. We were then selected four years in a row as one of a handful of Top Shops (injection molding) AROUND THE WORLD.  We gladly and routinely manufacture small and medium volume programs (it is all we do). We can design, make and maintain/repair molds in-house.

Do not wait for that fateful call, telling you what you have known for years, that you are not a good fit for your injection molder.

Send your molds to PlastiCert, where you will be greeted with phrases like, what can we do for you? When do you need that done? AND MOST IMPORTANTLY,  sure, we can accept an order that size, we do it all the time!!!

Give us a call!
