Spreading our profits
For the tenth year in a row, PlastiCert coworkers shared in the fruits of their labors, and made local groups happy all at the same time.
Just before the Christmas Holiday, PlastiCert coworkers received their profit sharing checks. This was the tenth year in a row since erasing the majority of the debt left from our management buyout in 2011. A percentage of the company’s Net Profit is placed into a pool to be divided up between the coworkers. Everyone gets to participate, even part time coworkers. For the FT production coworkers on the floor, the benefit this year is the equivalent of an extra 80 hour paycheck, on average almost $2,000.
Handing out profits did not start or end there. Over the course of the year, PlastiCert has given out donations to local groups and the school district. All told it is equivalent to four percent of our Net Profit. Donations benefitted school children, athletics, underprivileged children, youth groups, farm youth groups, local sportsman educating youth, community music non-profits, the list goes on.
Board with thank you letters and cards
Just as we blogged about last week, we recognize the needs of the community around us.
We also recognize that we are a team, and without everyone’s contribution, PlastiCert will not succeed. That being said, purposely, the profit sharing rate used for hourly FT coworkers is HIGHER than the rate used for salaried coworkers. Without our floor workers and their diligence and attitude, the company cannot survive.
So, we move on to a new year. Being thankful for what we have accomplished, and thankful for the opportunity to improve on that in the coming year.
Does your molder share their bottom line with those that either make it happen or are in need? If not, maybe you should entertain switching up and enhancing your supply chain with someone that does. Give PlastiCert a call.
